Ending BioShock

I should probably throw up a Spoiler Warning, you may want to avoid this article and the linked post if you haven’t played and beaten 2K‘s BioShock. If you have played and beaten the game please read on! You probably know despite the setting, mood, mechanics, weapons, music, and characters the ending fell quite flat. It’s no secret. Seems that Tom Francis of PC Gamer had similar feelings as the rest of us, but instead of kicking at the dirt, he got proactive and decided to pitch his own idea on how to properly end BioShock and he wrote it up here at his blog: Pentadact.

While not directly about game interface story and plot is apart of the user experience, it’s an interesting look a game design and how to end a game dramatically. Player experience is king and a nice UI is apart of that experience, but if the experience itself falls flat, than a UI no matter how good won’t do much for the player. I encourage everyone to head on over and check out his thoughts. C’est la vie, If only BioShock ended his way.
